• Is this event FREE?
“Mend The Hills” is a free event, no tickets required. We want to ensure that this evening of harmony and awareness is available to anyone who wants to attend. In lieu of free admission, if you would like to donate to support our organization, this would be appreciated. Suggested admission donation amount is $10.00. You can text MEND NOW to 44-321 to donate.
• Does the event continue rain or shine?
Yes, “Mend The Hills” is rain or shine, the show will go on if it is safe to do so. The stage area is covered, and there will be a hospitality tent and room under other tents in case of showers. If there are high winds or rain that could cause damage to tents or instruments, we would make a decision to delay performances or cancel the remainder of the event.
• Where can I park?
Both on-street parking and public parking lots are available throughout Historic Downtown Wilkesboro! Look for on-street parking spaces where designated; please do not park along curbs that are painted yellow. Public parking lots are available on South Bridge Street (beside Stroud-Miller Insurance); at Wilkesboro Town Hall; and at Wilkes County Offices (Fridays after 5 pm & Saturdays all day). Private lots open to event parking will be designated on the Parking Map which you can find on our Facebook event page or website at www.mendthehills.com.
• What time do food trucks and vendors open?
Food trucks and vendors begin serving at 5:00 p.m.
• Are coolers and outside food allowed at "Mend The Hills”?
Yes, coolers and outside food are allowed during events. However, no glass containers or outside alcohol may be brought into the venue.
• Are beer & wine available for purchase at concerts?
No, we will not be providing alcoholic beverages at this event. However, we would recommend that if you are visiting Wilkes and looking for a bar you visit one of our event sponsors, Merle’s, or Call Family Distillers. Merle’s also offers award-winning mocktail options if you prefer a non-alcoholic beverage and is only a block away.
• Is there seating at the venue?
A limited number of Adirondack-style chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Personal chairs and blankets are also welcome!
• Is this a kid-friendly event? Are kids' activities offered?
Yes, Mend The Hills is a family-friendly event with activities for kids of all ages.
Event activities include a Mechanical Bull & Axe Throwing by The Backyard Ninja, Photo Booth, Coloring Station, and a variety of yard games! The Heritage Square Splash Pad will also be open!
• Are pets allowed at the venue?
Yes, the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons is a pet-friendly venue! Well-behaved, leashed pets are allowed at MEND THE HILLS 2024.
• Is the venue smoke-free?
Yes, the venue is smoke-free. No smoking, e-cigarettes, or vaping is allowed. If you wish to do so, please locate the smoker posts provided on the perimeter of the venue.
